Can a 12-bit Bit Gate Be a 1-bit Gate Instead?
- Y
- BIOS
- we hardcode all that level of “shift” keys to the BIOS
- also
- the AND gate to 1-bit example
- so basically whenever we see the first 0
- we know it’s not 1
- the output is not 1
- so instead having to go through the entire 12 bit table
- we stop at the first one and conclude
- but sometimes the first 0 comes later
- so could we at the bios level decide
- that with AND operations the row that starts with 0 is shown first
- and with OR the other way around
- which means we ALWAYS deal with gates at 1-bit level
