Great majority of all scientific research is heavily rely on our ability to extract value out of data. Yet in academia and industry, r&d on fundamentally challenging the way we capture, store and process data receives little attention or funding.
Data science is a multi-disciplinary practice of extracting value out of data. More than anything, it is about managing the relationship between the extracted value and the resources consumed to extract that value. Advancements in data science promise to act as causes for advancement in all fields of scientific research.
