The way the word “quantum” is thrown around, seems often irresponsible and completely out of place. If that’s a way to say “something we can’t quite understand and keep learning more about” then that’s fine. When it becomes a way of saying “here is something we don’t understand but let me explain it using this theory we don’t quite understand either”, that seems to become a problem.
Basically we are limited by our own believes, which seems to be the main caveat we find in monotheistic religions. Originally we go in because we want to resolve painful questions, but by believing, we limit ourselves from ever really getting real resolve.
Believing that something we don’t understand, can be used to explain another thing we don’t understand, seems rather foolish. Anyone who has dealt with data knows the issues that come with too unreliable samples.
Given the relatively short period of time western science has lived in separation from the church, it is not so surprising that we find such Christian rhetoric influencing scientific dialogue. The idea that we can explain something by referring to something we can’t explain, seems as alive today as it has ever been.
